Central Coast Summer Race Series
Starting June 12th, 2011 is our Summer Race Point Series. Six dates thoughout the summer of racing, culminating in the final race with an awards party and BBQ!
The other dates are 7/10, 7/24, 8/7, 8/28, and the finals on 9/18! All races start at 10 AM, with sign up beginning at 9 AM. All races will be relatively short...we should be done by noon easily at every race except the last one, but that's only because we'll be partying by noon!
Just $10 to enter each race. No pre-registration necessary, just show up the morning of the race and sign up! The races are all intended to be low-key and fun, but there will be some pretty sweet prizes at the end...call, email, or come in for more info!

Jeremy Dawson for being a great sport and for all his support of our efforts! Jeremy's time would have given him 3 points in the 14' category, which is where he has been paddling, and would have again except we didn't have a board for him...sorry man, next time we will! We went ahead and gave him the points in 14', especially since he would have undoubtedly been faster if he had actually been on a 14'er:)
Karla Wade and Heather Cargill, for being the only women who made it out for this race. Thanks for your support and representation ladies, you both really stepped up and did a great job out in the open ocean...well done!
The Angulo Crew for always being up for rallying down from Santa Cruz, and also for stepping up with some really cool prizes for the Point Series winners! Look for discounted gift certificates for custom boards, and cool schwag from Smith Sunglasses, Angulo, and more!

The one after that will be a one-way trip from Los Osos back to Coleman Beach riding the ebb tide, so be sure to stay tuned and make it out for a race!

Awesome job all! It was especially great to see our good friend Jim ApRoberts out paddling and celebrating good health, you rock buddy! Special recognition goes to Mia Glinn as well, for being the youngest person to participate in any of the summer races, and doing so with style. Everyone else did great....the fastest paddler's were so fast we barely had time to get back to Coleman Beach and set up the finish. Men's 14' class is definitely turning out to be the most competitive class...bring your game if that's what you paddle!
The next race is at our shop, 501 Embarcadero. We'll hold Sprint races (200 meters, or so) in the channel right off our dock, and the awards ceremony/BBQ right afterwards. It's on September 18th, meet here at 10:00 and let's finish off another great central coast summer in STYLE!

Central Coast Waterman Festival & 3rd Annual Jesse King Memorial Race
Join us October 22nd and 23rd for the third annual Jesse King Memorial and the inaugural Waterman's Festival. 2 days of paddling, racing, and community. Multiple events, including a Race around the Rock Saturday morning and the Dash for Cash Sunday morning with a cash purse! Saturday will also have an inner harbor loop course for those who don't wish to race around Morro Rock and a fun obstacle course in the afternoon, along with demos and clinics with pro paddlers like Dan Gavere of Werner Paddles and Nikki Gregg, the First Lady of Stand Up Paddle Fitness! The event will culminate with the Jesse King Fun Race on Sunday early afternoon, which is open to all paddlers regardless of craft, skill, or anything else...if it floats and can be paddled it can be in the race! All proceeds from the JKFR event will go to local Junior Guard programs...we've raised nearly $2000 so far, let's beat it this year!
